Chess schools that teach children 14

These schools are marked for children because their listings or their own pages say so: most of them organise category tournaments by age group or for primary-school players, and Abdulov Chess Club states lessons for ages five to fourteen. Məmmədyarovlar Şahmat Məktəbi in Yasamal also takes its tournaments to the Olympic sports complex in Sumqayıt, and Suraxanı, Binə and Premier School hold events at their own halls.

The youth sports schools of the education department, number 4 in Nəsimi, number 3 in Nizami and number 11 in Qaradağ, follow the same pattern, as do Sumqayıt Şahmat Məktəbi with its Saturday competition, Xirdalan Şahmat Məktəbi and Koala Academy. Sənət uşaq Mərkəzi and Yasamal Şahmat Məktəbi appear with fewer events, and the Vüqar Həşimov academy on Azadlıq prospekti last showed a tournament in November 2025. Ages, prices and timetables are almost never printed; where an entry shows a phone number from a listing, that is the way to ask.
